Mark and his crew built my studio in 2005-2006. Here I am writing this 15 years later, and the studio is STILL functioning like the first day I moved in! Mark was able to take my unfinished basement of 1500 sq. ft, and lay out a space that can accommodate full bands. Instead of building 1 large live room, we built a smaller live room along with 3 iso rooms. The original intention was to place the drums in the largest iso room, and use the main live room for everything else. Over time, the main room has become my drum room because I can adjust the room to sound big or small. Clients love that aspect. If we want a tight drum sound, we close all the doors. If we want rock n roll drums, open the doors and put a mic in the hallway! Because my studio is in a basement, we were limited with a ceiling height of 8-10 ft. I am still amazed at how Mark used his acoustic expertise to rake the ceilings at unusual angles, and make the rooms feel and sound larger than they really are. I have produced everything from heavy metal to bluegrass, and every client walks away happy.
